Rail 200 Event - 3rd, 4th ,5th May

On 2nd May 1825 the Act of Parliament for the construction of the Cromford and High Peak Railway was passed. It authorised the entire line between Cromford Canal (the original High Peak Junction) and Whaley Bridge (Peak Forest Canal).

As part of this years’ Rail 200 celebrations SGLR are replicating the operations of the C&HP on the section of line Sheep Pasture-Steeplehouse-Middleton, using the published C&HP timetable for 1874. This included the daily passenger train between Cromford and Whaley Bridge (and vice versa)
